WELCOME: OCIA Program Welcomes Catechumens at St. Francis de Sales

December 17, 2023

Today, St. Francis de Sales accepted catechumens into their Order of Christian Initiation for Adults Program (OCIA). Br. Iñigo Johnpaul coordinated and served at this ceremony as both the Director of Religious Education and Master of Ceremonies.

MERRY CHRISTMAS: Christmas Show and Lunch at St. Francis de Sales

Today, St. Francis de Sales welcomed the parents and family members as the students put on their Christmas Show! Following the Nativity narrative, each student sang a song, acted, or narrated with their class! This was the first Catechesis Christmas Show production by the SCTJM Brothers and Priests!

ST. JOHN BOSCO: Brother Starts New Mission as DRE

December 11, 2023

Br. Emilio started a new mission as the Director of Religious Education at St. John Bosco Catholic Church on West Flagler. Br. Emilio will be overseeing the catechetical formation of over 300 youth, as well as RCIA and Family Faith Formation for the dynamic and growing immigrant population from Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba, and other countries. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins this new mission.

ADOM: Mass and Dinner for Religious

December 3, 2023

The Archdiocese of Miami gathered about 100 religious men and women from the Archdiocese of Miami at St. John Vianney Seminary for their annual Mass and Dinner for Religious. Celebrated by Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski, this was a beautiful opportunity for all religious to come together and bare witness to the fraternity of Christ and His apostles, while preparing their hearts in the beginning of the Advent season.

“BE NOT AFRAID” WEEK: National Vocations Awareness Week

November 6-11, 2023

Twelve young men journeyed with our Brothers through National Vocations Awareness Week, following a week-long series of activities, events, and opportunities to experience religious life. This week included a daily Study Hall, Vespers (Evening Prayer), Daily Mass, and more. It also served as an opportunity for these young men to open their hearts to the Lord and allow Him to be their guide!

ANSWERING THE CALL: Vocations Week in Fort Lauderdale, FL

SCTJM Sisters and Brothers visited Cardinal Gibbons High School to share the beauty and joy of religious life and what it means to answer the call and make of your life a gift. This took place in the school-wide Vocations Week Assembly.


They engaged with 1,150 students to share the graces that have

led them to religious life and how the Lord guided them to make of their lives an offering of love. They reminded them that their first vocation is to love and how the Lord has created them to allow the gift of their lives to bring the hearts of many back to Him.

First Renewal of Vows by an SCTJM Brother

November 11, 2023

On November 11th, Br. Iñigo Johnpaul of the Virginal, Spousal, and Paternal Heart of St. Joseph, the first religious brother of the SCTJM Brothers and Priests, renewed his religious vows. This first renewal for the male branch continues to actualize the dream of Our Lord and Our Lady in the Heart of the Church, as communicated by our Mother Foundress through the gift of our charism and religious life.

VIVET Young-Adult Retreat

November 12, 2023

Our Sisters, Brothers, and Young Adult Apostles of the Pierced Hearts gave a retreat for about fifty young adults. The young adults had an opportunity to gather together, engage with other young adults, and grow closer to Our Lord in the Eucharist.

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY: Pilgrimage to Medjigorje

November 15-26, 2023

For 42 years, apparitions of the Blessed Virgin have been reported in Medjugorje. These supposed appearances continue to be studied by the Church. 2 years ago the Holy See gave permission for Priests and Dioceses to make official pilgrimages. Mother Adela with the Servants of the Pierced Hearts we lead a pilgrimage with 110 pilgrims from different countries on a pilgrimage. As a group, we have wanted to respond to the calls of Our Lady through the history of praying, fasting, worshiping the Blessed Jesus and living a sacramental life.

ST. MICHAEL, THE ARCHANGEL: Defend Us in Battle

The SCTJM Brothers made a day-pilgrimage with some young-adults to visit the Shrine of St. Michael in Tarpon Springs, FL to pray before the miraculous icon of St. Michael and ask for his intercession.

GO AND BEAR FRUIT: Young Adult Retreat in Fortworth, TX

October 6-8, 2023

Our Sisters and Brothers joined a Young Adults Retreat hosted by the Diocese of Fort Worth and led by Religious to “discover the state of the garden” of their hearts, how to clean this garden, and which seeds to plant.

Annual Retreat for Priests in the Diocese of Rapid City

October 9-13, 2023

Our Mother Foundress, Mother Adela, was invited by Bishop Muhich to give the reflections during the annual retreat for the priests of the Diocese of Rapid City. She led them in contemplating the heart of St. Joseph, his role in the life of Jesus, and how he can form the hearts of priests. Fr. Joseph Mary was available for confessions and the sacraments throughout this retreat.

CALLED! Men’s Vocational Retreat

October 20-22, 2023

On the weekend of the Feast of St. John Paul II, 13 youth and young adults joined our Brothers and Priests for their vocational discernment retreat. This weekend was an opportunity for these young hearts to listen to the Lord, to the beatings of His Heart, and discover the perfect plan that He has for their lives!

Epiphany Confirmation Retreat

October 24, 2023

Our Sisters and Brothers led the Confirmation Retreat for over 100 students preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation at Epiphany Catholic School in Miami! In this retreat, the youth learned about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and were inspired with the stories of how many young saints achieved holiness, relying on these same gifts. In this retreat, the youth were led in various talks and activities, reminding them to work together with their friends, encouraging each other more and more to holiness every day.

OPEN WIDE THE DOORS TO CHRIST: Official Relic of the Blood of St. John Paul II in Kansas City

October 24-29, 2023

Our Sisters and Brothers led the veneration of the official first class pilgrim relic of St. John Paul II in the Archdiocese of Kansas City. The relic traveled to 16 locations in six days, including schools, parishes and the sick.

VIVET Teens Retreat

October 29, 2023

Our Sisters, Brothers, and Young Adult Apostles of the Pierced Hearts gave a wonderful and dynamic retreat for 45 teens. The youth were encouraged to make room in their hearts for the Lord, to receive His Love, and then to share it with those around them, every day of their lives. The youth had an opportunity to hear three talks from our Brothers and Sisters and two testimonies from Young Adult Apostles, paint their own t-shirts, have fun with different activities, and share with each other in small groups. In addition, the group also had the blessing to attend Holy Mass together and adore Our Lord in the Eucharist.

50 YEAR CELEBRATION: Our Lady of Charity, Ermita de la Caridad

In honor of the patroness of the Archdiocese of Miami, and the 50th year anniversary of the “Ermita de la Caridad”, our Brothers and Sisters joined in the celebratory mass to commemorate this great solemnity for our archdiocese and honor and give thanks to Our Lady for all that she has done to protect and care for the Cuban people under her mantle.

FIRST MEETING: Young Knights of the Pierced Hearts and Young Ladies of Our Lady

September 11, 2023

Young Adults from across the United States have joined a new Marian Ministry of our Vivet Movement! In the first meeting this month, over fifty young men and women made the pledge to be a Young Knights of the Pierced Hearts / Young Ladies of Our Lady. This meeting began before Our Lord, present in the Blessed Sacrament, and was followed by an opportunity for the youth to

receive an individual blessing with the relic of St. Maximilian Kolbe, whose witness they learned more about. Here, these young men and women prepared themselves to begin their journey as Young Knights and Young Ladies, setting out to conquer the world for the Pierced Hearts through the witness of their own lives!

Brothers at ADOM Priest Convocation

September 19-21, 2023

Our SCTJM Brothers had the opportunity to serve at the Archdiocese of Miami 2023 Priest Convocation, preparing the conference halls and guiding the registration process. Many of the priests commented how grateful they were to see our SCTJM Brothers for the first time at the convocation, witnessing our religious life at the service of the Church.

Reinflaming Hearts for the Faith: Our Mission in Ireland

September 15-25, 2023

Our Mother Foundress, Sisters, Brother, and Apostles of the Two Hearts went out into the deep on our first evangelization mission in the country of Ireland! Accompanied by lay members of our spiritual family and collaborating with a group of volunteers from Ireland, they opened spaces for the Lord to re-inflame the love of the faith in many hearts through Eucharistic Cenacles, powerful talks, and personal encounters. The spark of faith

already present in the deep history of this country was fanned into flame, and a candle has been lit that will not be extinguished!

We are so blessed to have the Eucharistic Cenacles, teachings, serving as a family... and others are thirsting for it. Associated Priests of the Family of the Pierced Hearts Serve on Pilgrimage

September 19-21, 2023

During the 2023 Pilgrimage to Medjugorje, led and coordinated by Mother Adela Galindo, Fr. Avelino Gonzalez, Fr. Javier Barreto, and Fr. Joseph Mary served as chaplains for all of those in attendance. Fr. Avelino is the pastor at St. Matthias Parish in Lanham, MD. Fr Javier is the pastor at Little Flower Catholic Church in Holywood, FL.

CARLO ACUTIS EXHIBIT: Good Shepherd Catholic Church

SCTJM brought the Carlo Acutis Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition to Good Shepherd Catholic Chruch in Kendall, FL. After nearly ten years since this exhibit has visited this parish community, the faithful of Good Shepherd had an opportunity to renew their knowledge of Eucharistic Miracles, learn from Carlo Acutis, pray before his relic, share with our SCTJM Sisters and Brothers, and, most importantly, encounter our Lord, truly present in the Eucharist.

NEW MISSIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS: St. Francis de Sales

As of today, at St. Francis de Sales in Miami Beach, Br. Iñigo Johnpaul, SCTJM has begun a new mission as the Director of Religious Education and Br. Nathaniel Muñoz, SCTJM has received a pastoral assignment as the Assistant Director of Religious Education. May Our Lady guard and guide these new missions and assignments.

Students from Christo Rey Miami had the opportunity to visit our St. John Paul II Evangelization Center for their Freshman Retreat. This experience, at the start of the year, was an opportunity for these Freshman to open their hearts and entrust their time of study in high school to Our Lord and Our Lady.

REVEALED: Ave Maria 2023 Youth Conference

July 14-16, 2023

THE GREAT VIGIL 2023

June 16-17, 2023

Our Religious and Spiritual Family held the Great Vigil in many places, in celebration of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Great Vigil is a night in which we honor these Two Hearts with the Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration and praying the Holy Rosary, and offered especially for the sanctification of priests.

NOTRE DAME D'HAITI: SCTJM Sisters and Brothers Led a Summer Camp at Notre Dame de Haiti Parish in Miami

June 26-30, 2023

Our Sisters and Brothers brought the Maternal presence of the Blessed Virgin and the Paternal presence of Saint Joseph to the children and adolescents at Notre Dame de Haiti Parish during a recent summer camp in Miami. These weeks of camp were full of

games, dances, moments of sharing, prayer, Mass and catechesis. During these days, the children enjoyed the presence of the Sisters and the Brothers. Together they conquered these young hearts by filling them with the love of God.

GO TO JOSEPH! Vocational Discernment Group

All of the gentlemen who attended this special meeting were able to learn from the heart of our Mother Foundress and receive her maternal blessing. PASTORAL VISIT: Bp. Neil Scantlebury to Miami, FL

In the first week of June, 2023, Bishop Neil Scantlebury, bishop of the Diocese of Birdgetown, Barbados, was invited by Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski to celebrate the sacrament of confirmation for five parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Miami. The SCTJM Brothers were entrusted with preparing and serving in these liturgies.

JOURNEYING TO CONSOLE THE PIERCED HEARTS: 2023 Pilgrimage to France

This past April, the SCTJM Religious Brothers and Priests embarked on their first pilgrimage as the male branch of our Religious Family. Beginning in Paray-le-Monial, where Jesus revealed His Most Sacred Heart, and continuing to the holy cities of Ars (St. John Vianney), Annecy (St. Francis de Sales), La Salette

(Our Lady of La Sallete), and St. Baume (St. Mary Magdalen), the Brothers and Priests encountered the Two Hearts responding to the call to console Them!

SOURCE AND SUMMIT: Mission in Dallas, TX

April 13-16, 2023

This weekend Br. Emilio, SCTJM and the SCTJM sisters were asked again to serve at the Source and Summit youth retreat in Dallas, Texas. They gave talks helped with the preparations of the parish hall, and helped during the Eucharistic Adoration.

HE IS RISEN: Celebrating the Joy of Easter at Pascua Joven 2023

BRINGING CHRIST ONTO THE CAMPUS: Lenten Mission at St. Augustine Church and Catholic Gators Student Center, University of Florida

March 6-8, 2023

Diving deeper into the season of Lent and expanding the understanding of the Eucharist, Fr. Joseph Mary, SCTJM, Nathaniel, Gilberto, and Jonathan served at St. Augustine

Catholic Church and Catholic Gator Student Center at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, in their Lenten Parish Mission! This mission included two days of talks, followed by a Cenacle and confession service. In between the mission itself, the SCTJM Brothers held a Eucharistic Adoration at the heart of the campus of the University of Florida, on the Plaza of the Americas, a lunch with the Catholic Gator students, and had various opportunities to play games, share, and engage with the community.

THE EUCHARISTIC HEART OF JESUS: Life of the Church and Hope of Humanity

March 11-15, 2023

This Lent, Fr. Joseph Mary, SCTJM, Nathaniel Muñoz, and Gilberto Garcia led the lenten mission at St. Martin de Tours in Gaithersburg, MD. The theme for this mission was "The Eucharistic Heart of Jesus: Life of the Church and Hope of Humanity. I Have Come that You may have Life." This mission

included two nights of talks in both English and Spanish, followed by a bilingual cenacle on the third night. It was an opportunity to bring the entire parish community together to prepare their hearts for Lent, through the power of The Eucharistic Heart of Jesus.

CALLED! Men's Vocational Discernment Retreat

March 17-19, 2023

On the weekend before the Feast of St. Joseph, the SCTJM Religious Brothers and Priests held a "Called!" Vocational Discernment retreat for young men interested in learning more about the vocations of Religious Brothers and Religious Priests according to our charism. May St. Joseph, Guardian of the Mother and the Child, raise up many young men to give their lives for love of the Two Hearts!

AIM HIGHER 2023: Miami Men's Retreat

February 10-12, 2023

Over thirty young men joined us for our Aim Higher Men's Retreat. This weekend was an opportunity to step away from the day to day and take some time to listen to the Lord, share as men, and grow in search of discovering the man that God created each of these young men to be, in light of the call and theme of our year: "You will be my witnesses" (Acts 1:8)

SPRING RETREAT: Brothers and Sisters serve together at the Newman Center Retreat, Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ

February 16-20, 2023

Over 110 university students attended the Holy Spirit Catholic Newman Center Retreat in Phoenix, Arizona. Our sisters who serve at the center also had the help of Br. Iñigo, SCTJM and Br.

Zachary, SCTJM. There were talks on the gifts of the masculine and feminine heart, small groups, games and times of Praise and Worship. It is an immense gift to see the Lord working in these young people!

LENTEN MISSION: St. John Paul II in North Florida

February 23-26, 2023

The relic of JPII is still on pilgrimage; last weekend the relic was at the parish of St. Anthony Abbot in St. Petersburg, Florida. For this event, we also brought our bilingual exhibit on Eucharistic miracles, which was designed by Bl. Carlo Acutis.

LENTEN MISSION: Austin, TX

February 23-28, 2023

The Brothers served in St. William Catholic Church, leading two talks for the Lenten Mission, Parish staff retreats, and led retreat seminars for the middle-school youth group, high-school youth group, and high school leaders group.

A VISIT: from Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski

In January we had the gift to welcome Archbishop Thomas Wenski (Archdiocese of Miami) to our Mother House. He celebrated the Holy Mass and then had the opportunity to visit Sacred Heart House of Formation and enjoy a special dinner prepared by the Brothers. It was a night filled with joy, gratitude and fraternal sharing. We hold Archbishop and all the Bishops in the diocese where we serve in prayer.

CAMP CARLO: One-Day Adventure

On January 14, 2023, fourty-six young men, ages 13 - 17, came together for Camp Carlo: One-Day Adventure to enjoy the coldest day of Miami in the great outdoors. Throughout the day, they played soccer and kickball, competed in a scavenger hunt based on the Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition of Carlo Acutis, listened to various talks, participated in Holy Mass and a Eucharistic Cenacle, gathered around a bonfire, and learned

about Carlo Acutis and how they could, today, begin living their lives on the Highway to Heaven with his four tools: The Eucharist, The Rosary, Confession, and the Church!

'FROM MAINTENANCE TO MISSION: Cardinal Timothy Dolan Speaks at Major Seminary

January 23, 2023

Examining the legacy of what he called ‘used-to-be-Catholicism’, Cardinal Dolan wondered aloud how to overcome negative trends facing the Church. The Mother Adela, SCTJM Foundress, the Sisters, and the Brothers had the blessing to join in this visit

and share afterwards with Cardinal Dolan. Mother also presented the Brothers to him afterwards and he greeted and laughed with them with much joy.

CLASSWIDE RETREAT: St. Agnes 7th Day Retreat

January 25, 2023

The SCTJM Brothers joined St. Agnes Academy to help lead the 7th Grade Day Retreat! This day was filled with talks, activities, and soccer. Afterwards, the Servants led the students in a moment of adoration before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
